Just thought we would put this page in due the amount of people asking where to find good restaurants . This is from my own experience and may not be to everybody's taste and is in no particular order. Duquesa's restaurants can't be too bad though because Keith Floyd lives here, but then again the wine's cheap and not bad either. If you're bringing babies it's worth remembering most restaurants don't have high chairs but two chairs stacked together seem to do the job.
THE PORT
Saddles
The best place for a full English breakfast expensive by Spanish standards at around £4.00 but will fill most people for the day. Also good selections of snacks and lunches at good prices. Good service in an excellent position on the front of the marina.
Chinese
Choice of three, all have a good selection at reasonable prices. If you are on a budget ask for the menu of the day (Menu del Dia) they tend to hold these back but you will get a full 3 course meal for around £4.00
Browns
English style carvery with choice of starters or salad bar followed by very good selection of meats, vegetarian dish or even curry, finished off with a sweet of your choice all for around £8.00. Or you could go a la carte for a little more. Very good value in a nice setting with good service.
Il Capitano
Without doubt the most popular of all the Italians here and always full but I must say the two opposite are worth a visit as this is really no better or cheaper and I fail to see the big attraction.
Char-Ming
Thai restaurant on the ground floor of the marina. This is probably the best Thai restaurant I have ever tried, really excellent food at reasonable prices. If you like spicy food this is a must !! Open six days a week closed Thursday, say hello to Jenny Wong the owner, with small stature and large personality.
Jaipur
Opposite browns this is a good sandwich shop that makes their own baguettes with a good selection of filling and very good pastries.
Garibaldi ice cream shop
If you have room after all that the ice cream shop in the same courtyard as the Italians is really worth a visit especially if you have bought the kids the selection is outstanding and keeps even the most challenging of children quiet for 10 minutes.
OUTSIDE DUQUESA
La Menorah
On the way to Estepona in the last parade of bars and shops on the left just before the round about at Estepona. This is quite expensive but is still worth a visit especially on a special occasion a high class restaurant serving something special.
Robbie's Estepona
Roman Oasis
Head towards Estepona and just after Sabinillas turn left at Gran Bar and it is sign posted This is a good night out for everyone a very well presented restaurant in a garden setting complete with parrots. The menu is minimal with a choice of chicken, steak or chops with jacket potato or jacket potato but then again it only does barbecue food. The price is a little high for what you get at around £20 per head but it is still worth a go especially for children. If you go for lunch there is a stream you can swim in and a rope swing! There is also a small playground for the children if the parrots don't manage to entertain them!
San Rafael
From Duquesa head towards Gibraltar turn back on yourself at the roundabout at Aldea Hills/Aldea Beach developments and San Rafael is halfway between Aldea Beach roundabout and Hidalgos roundabout. This restaurant doesn't look much from the outside but is completely different inside. It serves traditional Spanish food and every meal comes complete with complimentary tapas. Excellent food and an excellent experience, for a three course meal with drinks expect to pay around £15 per head.
